Meet Our Summer Performance Interns!

MEET JACK RINZEL | Jack is from Chanhassen, MN where he graduated from Holy Family Catholic High School in 2016. During high school, Jack played and lettered in hockey and lacrosse. In lacrosse, Jack was a 2x All-Section player for the Fire. After graduation, Jack attended Stevenson University in Baltimore, Maryland where he played lacrosse for the Mustangs and was majoring in Business. While playing for the mustangs, Jack was a part of the team's 5th and 6th straight MAC championship along with two runs deep into the NCAA playoffs. After this past school year, Jack decided to transfer from Stevenson to the University of Minnesota Duluth to change his major to Exercise Science. In addition, he will be working towards in certification as a USA Weight Lifting Coach to align with his passion for power lifting. Outside of his studies, Jack plans to continue his lacrosse career playing for the Bulldogs who have reached the Final Four in the DII National Tournament. Jack is excited to return to Starters for his second summer of interning and to continue pushing athletes to be the best they can be.

MEET SYDNEY DWYER | Sydney graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf, IA in 2014 where she played both softball and basketball. After high school, Sydney attended the University of Minnesota where she majored in Kinesiology and played softball. In her first two years she found playing time at both third base and shortstop. In her junior and senior season she was the first baseman for the Gophers. Sydney holds the school’s single season RBI record with 76 in 2017. In her junior season, she received All-Big Ten second-team, Big Ten All-Tournament team, Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District 6 Softball team, NFCA Great Lakes All-Region first-team, and was an NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete. During her four years she was a part of three Big Ten Tournament championships and one regular season Big Ten Championship.

MEET KODI FEZLER | Kodi is from Prior Lake, MN where he graduated from Prior Lake High School in 2017. While attending Prior Lake High School, he was captain of the Lakers' football team and also lettered in baseball. After graduation, Kodi chose to attend the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire to play football and study Kinesiology & Exercise Science. Unfortunately, his football career was cut short after his freshman season due to a severe concussion. With the additional time in his schedule, Kodi now plans on earning a second major in Strength and Conditioning. Kodi returns for his second summer of interning at Starters Sports Training. In addition to interning with Starters Sports Training, Kodi also runs the 7th/8th grade strength program at Prior Lake High School and is the Defensive Coordinator for Potenza Sports 7v7 Club Football Team.

MEET JON PATTERSON | Jon is from Chanhassen, Minnesota where he graduated from Chanhassen High School in 2017. There he played baseball for the Storm and was also a part of the Starters Sports fall and winter club programs in the off-season. Currently, Jon just finished his freshman year at Bethel University in St Paul, Minnesota. He is currently studying Biokinetics with an emphasis on pre-PA. Additionally, Jon is continuing his baseball career for the Royals as a pitcher. Last year the Royals came away with a MIAC championship, their 3rd in 4 years, and made it to their first ever regional tournament. Jon is very excited to be back at Starters to help develop athletes and give back to an organization that did so much for his baseball career.

MEET DAVID PONATH | David is from Stillwater, MN and a 2014 graduate of St. Croix Lutheran High School in West St. Paul where he played and lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. Post graduation David attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. While attending Luther, David played Linebacker for the Norse Football team. Additionally, David interned with the Norse Strength & Conditioning Staff his junior and senior year working mainly with the Norse wrestling team. He was responsible for leading in-season and off-season workouts for the team of 30 athletes. David recently graduated this May with a degree in Health and Fitness Promotion. Aside from interning w/Starters Sports Training this summer, David will coaching high school football back at his alma mater St. Croix Lutheran.
