Starters 15U Hageman

In Game 1 Starters 15U-Hageman lost to MASH, 3-1. While the team took a loss, the performance was crisp overall. Defensively, the team played a clean game behind the pitching of Dayne McNaughton, Tommy Hanson and Sam Donahue. The difference was timely hitting as Starters left a small army on the bases (13 LOB) and ended 3 consecutive innings with the bases loaded. The lone run was came when Ross Hebel drove in Asher Giese on an RBI ground out. Giese and Henry Bushey also had two well-hit balls.

Game 2 had Starters beating MASH, 14-11. Starters lineup showed patience as everyone in the lineup reached base at least once. Tommy Hanson had two well-hit balls, including a double to lead off the game. Others with well-hit balls include Hebel, Adam Hanson, Brady Schroeder and Asher Giese. Blake Cramer earned win in relief and Sam Donahue closed the door by getting the game's final 3 outs.

The defensive play of the day came in the 2nd inning of Game 2 on a very well executed relay on a would-be triple. With Bushey on the mound, a MASH hitter hit a ball into the left-center gap which Starters' center fielder Blake Cramer retrieved quickly, threw to cut-off man Sam Donahue who made a pinpoint throw to Adam Hanson at 3rd to end the inning and the MASH's threat.

The head's up moment of the day came when Asher Giese led off the 3rd inning of Game 2 with a walk and went 1st-to-3rd on Cramer's ground out to 2nd. Giese, running on the play, hit the 2nd base bag aggressively and sprinted to 3rd without breaking stride. Giese would score on the next at-bat, sparking a five-run 3rd inning.
