Summer Youth Strength Development

An athlete’s youth years are critical to their long-term athletic development.  Instilling the ability to display the basic concepts of posture, balance, strength, and flexibility creates the foundation for the athletes’ athletic movements.  Starters Summer Youth Program teaches those concepts and then applies them to the basic athletic movements of running, jumping, rotating, cutting, and throwing.  It is the enhancement of these athletic movements through a variety of challenging and fun environments and sets the Starters program apart.  

Weights will be incorporated into the program as well.  The focus will be placed on developing proper technique through repetitions.  The progression will work into adding speed to this technique rather than chasing maximal strength.

Youth Strength Development Classes

Starters youth training serves as a foundation for our athletes' long-term development.  It is here where they will learn and develop optimal movement mechanics for all the aspects sports utilize such as running, jumping, rotating, cutting, and throwing.  The training will teach the athletes proper alignment and patterns of things such as squats, lunges, rotation, and overhead movements.  Minimal weights will be used.  The progression will focus on the repeatability and speed of the movement mechanics.
